The New York Subliners and Atlanta FaZe secured wins Friday to jump into a tie for second place in Call of Duty League Major II qualifying.
Both teams improved to 3-1, joining the Toronto Ultra behind 3-0 OpTic Texas.
The Subliners swept Vegas Legion while the FaZe needed a reverse sweep to eke out a 3-2 win over the Los Angeles Guerrillas.
Also on Friday, the Florida Mutineers edged the London Royal Ravens 3-2.
The FaZe lost the first two maps, 250-233 on Embassy Hardpoint and 6-2 on Breenbergh Hotel Search and Destroy. But they were unfazed, taking El Asilo Control 3-1 and then Mercado Las Almas Hardpoint 250-102. The FaZe completed the comeback with a 6-5 win on El Asilo Search and Destroy.
The Subliners had no such drama, kicking off their sweep with a 250-226 win on Breenbergh Hotel Hardpoint. They took El Asilo Search and Destroy 6-2 and clinched with a 3-0 win on Breenbergh Hotel Control.
The Mutineers clawed out of a hole after dropping the first map to the Royal Ravens, 250-248 on Zarqwa Hydroelectric Hardpoint. Florida rebounded with a 6-4 win on Al Bagra Fortress Search and Destroy then took Breenbergh Hotel Control 3-2. London replied with a 250-170 win on Breenbergh Hotel Hardpoint to knot the match before the Mutineers clinched on Embassy Search and Destroy, 3-2.
