Obama re-election campaign shows ad revealing Romney's 'vampire' job record

U.S. President Barack Obama's re-election campaign has released an advertisement against Republican rival Mitt Romney in a bid to weaken his record on jobs.

The advertisement shows former workers of a steel plant that was bought by Bain Capital and co-founded by Romney. The private equity firm was later shut down.It was like a vampire. They came in and sucked the life out of us," BBC quoted one former GST Steel employee as saying.

According to the BBC, the two minute-long ad will be broadcasted in five battleground states, namely, Iowa, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Colorado.

The new Obama campaign video shows former steel workers speaking against Romney and Bain Capital.

The Obama campaign also launched a website specifically aiming to criticising Romney's record.

After the release of the Obama campaign's latest ad, the Romney campaign said it welcomed the president's efforts to focus debate on jobs.

"If the Obama administration was less concerned with pleasing its wealthy donors and more concerned with creating jobs, America would be much better off," Romney's spokeswoman Andrea Saul said.

Romney has repeatedly attacked Obama for failing to create jobs in the country. (ANI)
